Volvo Graders
The Grader is a construction machine with a long blade that is used to create a smooth surface during leveling process. The machine, on which a cabin and motor on its typical models, features three axles (two in the rear end and one in the front of the vehicle) and a blade in between those two. Some site workers name this machine simply as “the blade”. Depending on their capacity, they have blade width between 2,5 m – 7,3 m and engine output between 93-373 kW (125-500 HP). Certain graders may operate multiple attachments or may be used for special tasks such as underground mining.
In civic engineering, the purpose of the grader is to finalize the grading. The raw grading works are undertaken by other construction machines such as heavy machinery or rippers and bulldozers.
